Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Do I Need A Doctor's Referral?

No. A doctor's referral has not been necessary in Alberta since 1994. Many of our patients are still referred by their physician and our therapists will include your physician in your care.

Some insurance companies as well as the WCB require a doctor's referral for coverage. Please ask our staff if it may be required by you.

Following your assessment, a brief note will be sent to your doctor outlining the clinical findings as well as requesting any information that your therapists feels is important in providing your treatment.

Who Pays For My Treatment?

There are many different ways to access coverage for Physical Therapy at our clinic:
  • Extended Health and Motor Vehicle Accident Insurance
  • Capital Health (CRP) funded treatment
  • Worker's Compensation Board claims
  • You may pay on your own
Our reception staff will be happy to answer any questions you may have as to your coverage options and assist you in any steps you are required to take.

How Long Do Appointments Last?

Appointments generally last between 45 and 90 minutes depending on the type of treatment. Please be prepared with suitable clothes for exercising. These should be comfortable and not restricting.
