Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a doctor's referral?

No, you do not need a doctor’s referral to see us unless you need it to make a claim with your insurance company or WCB. Many of our patients are still referred by their physician and our therapists will include your physician in your care. If you are unsure, please ask our staff if it may be required in your case.

Following your assessment, a brief note will be sent to your doctor outlining the clinical findings, as well as requesting any information that your therapist feels is important in providing your treatment.

What payment options are available?

There are many different ways to access coverage for Physical Therapy at our clinic:

  • Extended Health and Motor Vehicle Accident Insurance

  • Alberta Health Services funded treatment

  • Worker's Compensation Board claims

  • You may pay on your own

Our reception staff will be happy to answer any questions you may have as to your coverage options and assist you in any steps you are required to take.

How long do appointments last?

Appointments generally last between 45 and 90 minutes depending on the reason for your visit and type of treatment you will receive.

Remember we are here to help. Please bring questions and concerns and we will do our best to provide as much information as we can to help you.

What should I wear to my appointment?

You may want to bring some athletic attire (shorts, T-shirt, etc.) as there is a good chance you will be doing some exercise in our gym.  If you forget, we have shorts on hand.

As well, to keep our clinic clean, we ask that you remove your shoes before entering the treatment area. Feel free to bring indoor shoes that you would like to wear.
